My name is Stellah Mwendwa — a passionate chef by profession and the proud founder of Food Profile TV.

Born and raised in a remote village in Kenya, I grew up surrounded by the rich culinary traditions of my community. I attended school in Kenya and developed a deep appreciation for African food from an early age. Over time, this appreciation blossomed into a calling — a purpose that led me to fuse local African ingredients with global cuisines, creating flavorful recipes that tell stories of culture, health, and unity.

My Culinary Journey

My professional journey began in 2011, when I was hired as a waitress at a five-star hotel in Nairobi, Kenya. Little did I know, this would be the doorway into my destiny. Eventually, I transitioned into the kitchen team, and that’s when everything changed.

I discovered that cooking wasn’t just about preparing meals — it was art, science, and soul. The combination of ingredients started to make sense, and became clear .The more I learned, the more I was transformed. I gained new skills, new knowledge, and new experiences. Interacting with foreign guests and being exposed to international cuisines broadened my worldview.

What started as passion grew into zeal. I found joy in creating nutritious meals, knowing that what I served could heal, energize, and connect people. That’s when I truly embraced the power of food.

My Vision Through Food Profile TV

Through Food Profile TV, I celebrate the authentic African culinary heritage, especially the wisdom and simplicity found in village life. African foods are among the most nutritious in the world, and villagers have direct, fresh access to these ingredients — straight from the earth.

Unlike many in modern society who have lost touch with nature, African villagers still live in harmony with the land. In the spirit of Pan-Africanism, I believe villagers are the unsung heroes — the very foundation upon which Africa can feed herself and the world.

Food Profile TV is not just a blog or channel — it’s a movement to reconnect with our roots, promote healthy living, and share the vibrant culinary stories of Africa with the world.
